Queries Entered in Search Tools
A name or location typed into a search box is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own system. The provider’s terms and privacy practices govern its processing.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact submission may be retained long enough to answer and manage the request. We do not share a message outside the organization unless doing so is legally required.
Technical Information Collected Automatically
Ordinary logs and analytics may record technical details when a page loads, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages visited and time spent on them;
- the referring page or site, when supplied; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may help measure how visitors move through the site and support advertising or basic features. Browser controls can reject or remove them, although some functions may then behave differently.
Reasons the Data Is Used
Collected information supports a limited set of operating purposes:
- keeping pages available and responsive;
- routing a submitted query to the selected search partner;
- learning which guides visitors use;
- diagnosing errors, abuse, and performance problems; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect inferred interests.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to Schuylkill County records pages, Pennsylvania courts and corrections portals, federal locators, and outside search tools. The destination’s privacy policy applies after a click. We do not control its collection, retention, security, or availability.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across different websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs under those partners’ technologies and policies rather than a Schuylkill County government process.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Depending on how the site is used, data can be handled by:
- a search partner processing the query entered into its tool;
- an analytics provider measuring visits;
- an advertising network serving or measuring ads; and
- law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security, Not a Guarantee
We use ordinary safeguards suited to a public informational website. No internet-connected service or transmission method is fully secure, so we cannot promise that a breach, interception, loss, or misuse will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data we hold;
- correct inaccurate information;
- erase information that need not be retained; or
- opt out of certain processing where that right applies.
Pennsylvania public-record access is governed separately by the Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. §§ 67.101 through 67.3104. A request concerning a county, court, or corrections record must go to the government office holding that record, not through this privacy process.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this notice as services or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when posted here with its current effective date.
